SEAFN, 1LoveMovement Action in Tacoma

Tacoma, WA- Organizers, activists, fighters and believers from around the country and across Washington state, will converge in Tacoma to rally against detentions and deportations, and call for the right to return of deported communities and families. This event is co-sponsored and supported by over 40 organizations nationwide. The rally will occur at the infamous Northwest Detention Center where many members of the Cambodian and other immigrant and refugee communities are transferred from many places around the country, as their last stop before deportation and often permanent separation from home and loved ones.

We remember the life and work of our sister in the struggle for human rights, Berta Cáceres. Having just commemorated World Water Day, we recognize that her life was stolen as she defended the land of the indigenous Lenca people of Honduras against profiteering interests to build a dam that would cut off the water supply for so many Lenca people and impinge on their right to live off their land
