Today, #MLKDay, the USHRN honors the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who led the Civil Rights Movement which encompasses the principles of the human rights movement in the United States and globally.

“We have moved from the era of civil rights to the era of human rights, an era where we are called upon to raise certain basic questions about the whole society. We have been in a reform movement…But after Selma and the voting rights bill, we moved into a new era, which must be the era of revolution. We need a radical reimagining of our future; one that centers justice for those who are most vulnerable and marginalized. Today, the US Human Rights Network recognizes and uplifts our members and activists around the country who are a part of Dr. King’s legacy and who continue to fight for the human rights of all people and Peoples and who recognize that the harm of White supremacy has been in existence long before the insurrectionists stormed the Capitol on January 6.
