Civil Society Partners working in Peace-building: UN Survey

Feb 6, 2019

UN Office of the High Commissioner for HRIn his report on Peacebuilding and Sustaining Peace (A/72/707-S/2018/43), the UN Secretary-General called for strengthened UN engagement with civil society and local communities at large. Following his recommendations (paras. 59 and 61 in particular), the UN Peacebuilding Support Office (PBSO) embarked on a process to develop a UN System-wide Community-Engagement Guidelines (CEG) in September 2018 through an inclusive, impartial and representative process in collaboration with civil society partners working in peacebuilding, especially at the country-level.

To develop comprehensive guidance on how the UN and civil society actors can better engage in the context of peacebuilding and sustaining peace, as a first step, the PBSO has launched an online survey for non-governmental and civil society organizations to gather feedback from stakeholders globally. Your inputs will significantly support the development of comprehensive, practical and useful guidelines to improve how the UN engages with civil society and local communities.

Therefore, OHCHR invites you to take this survey, which should take about 15 minutes, by 15 February 2019.
