The USHRN organizes and participates in meetings, gatherings, conferences, workshops, retreats and other types of convening with the purpose of advancing the public's understanding of human rights and deepening the relationship between organizations, social movements and human rights.

USHRN staff and members are available for a broad range of convenings to present on human rights and human right campaigns.

In 2018, the USHRN presented some of the following convenings

  • FIHRE. 3 day retreat held in Tennessee.
  • FIHRE 2. 3 day retreat held in Atlanta.
  • FIHRE 3. 3 day retreat held in Phoenix.
  • United Nations Human Rights Council meeting on the International Decade for People of African Descent in Geneva, Switzerland.
  • Human Rights Cities Conference. 2 day gathering held in Greenville, SC.
  • SHROC XI. The premier human rights conference held in the South.
  • NYC visit by the United Nations Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent.
  • United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, the Expert Group Meeting in NYC
  • Bringing Human Rights Home. Event at Columbia University Law School.
  • Numerous events for International Human Rights Day. December 10, 2018.
